Fabio Silva Hits Back at Wolves Criticism After Securing La Liga Loan Move

Silva Moved on loan to Anderlecht ending a difficult spell with the English Premier League club

Fabio Silva has not scored a goal in his last 22 Premier League appearances.

Fabio Silva has hit out at criticism of his time at Wolves after securing a season-long loan move to La Liga club Anderlecht.

The 20-year-old Portuguese striker joined Wolves from Porto for a club-record fee of £35million in September 2020.

Silva made 56 appearances for Wolves, scoring four goals, but he has not featured for the first team since January.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Anderlecht, scoring seven goals in 16 appearances, and he has now returned to the Belgian club on a permanent deal.

Silva said he was "disappointed" with the way he was treated by Wolves, but he is now looking forward to a fresh start in Belgium.

"I'm disappointed with the way things have gone at Wolves," Silva told Sky Sports.

"I think I've been treated unfairly, but I'm not going to dwell on that."

"I want to look forward to the future and I'm excited to be back at Anderlecht."

"I know the club and I know the league, so I'm confident I can score goals and help the team succeed."

Wolves have signed two new strikers this summer, Goncalo Guedes and Sasa Kalajdzic, and Silva's departure will free up space in the squad.

It remains to be seen whether Silva can fulfill his potential at Wolves, but he will have the opportunity to prove himself at Anderlecht.
